MUSIC SESSIONS

PARIS JONES // KILLGXXD (MARCH 7, 2014) | OURLYNCHBURG

Los Angeles natives and current Lynchburg locals Paris Jones and KillGXXD performing the song "You're Invited" from Paris's 2013 record, You're Invited to the Assassination of Patrick Campbell. Despite the finger-screaming cold, KillGXXD spent the night DJing his own material, and was joined by Paris at the end for three songs.

ESCONDIDO (NOVEMBER 2013)

NASHVILLE (AUGUST 2013)

Spent an incredible week with David Smalt (Beryl Son's frontman), his wife and daughter in East Nashville. David and I went to college together, and have remained close despite the stranger turns out lives have taken -- usually independently from one another, and always similar.
Part two of my Beryl Son recordings in East Nashville. Recorded in their practice room at Adam's house (the drummer). We did some tube swapping/pulling on David's Silverface Twin Reverb to make it sound a little fatter and have better reverb control. Pretty sweet.
When I met Jesse and Sara Thompson, they were playing together in a group called Starline Drive. Their new project, Twain Blue, is by far their best yet. This was filmed on their porch in East Nashville. Apologies for the lens noise. www.marceloasherq.com
Part Two of the videos I did with Twain Blue while in Nashville, this one in an all-white room in their home. Once again, camera noises. I'll get the hang of it. But for now, enjoy another intimate tune by Twain Blue. I'll promise I'll stop shooting and get back to writing now.

FIRST ATTEMPTS (JANUARY 2013):

This is the second part of this mini-series. Me trying my hand at filming, with my brother practicing his own music as the subject. In this one, you can really tell how cold it is in there with Lucas's breath being visible for the first of his "bad luck blues" song set.
This is part one of two of my first attempt at shooting a film. Wanted to try it out, while also capturing my brother practicing some original music. Shot with a Canon 5D Mark II in the gym at the Keep Colony, long before the stage was set up.
